Captain Tony Catalfamo
The Fantasy
Captain Tony Catalfamo has fished the Atlantic Ocean for most of his life. Previously
in corporate management for several years in Boston, Captain Tony has been a professional
captain in Islamorada for over 10 years. He searched for 7 years for the perfect location
in which to fulfill his dream of being the Captain of the charter boat Fantasy, a beautiful 38' custom sportfisherman. In
1980 he discovered the Florida Keys while fishing in Islamorada, and found the location
for which he had been searching. In 1986, Captain Tony and his wife Debbie left
Massachusetts on the Fantasy even before they had a slip secured! On their
trip down the Intercoastal, they called Whale Harbor Marina every day to see if a slip had
become available. While enroute, one phone call brought good news -- a slip had become
available, and a friend had put a deposit on it for them. He has been permanently located
at Whale Harbor Marina since that time. Captain Tony's dream was certainly no 'fantasy'!
Captain Tony has an excellent reputation in the Florida Keys, and is quite well-known and
respected throughout the keys. Young anglers are welcome, in fact families are encouraged,
so you can make this a great family outing! Whether a novice or an experienced angler,
your charter will be an experience to remember for a lifetime. Captain Tony is happy to
catch and release at the angler's request. He is a strong advocate of billfish
conservation. He is very proud of his release record, and will not kill any sailfish or
sportfish so that they can provide enjoyment to anglers for years to come. For information

Fantasy
The Fantasy is a beautiful 38' Harris Custom Sportfishing boat with flybridge and tuna tower. Its wide beam gives 6 anglers plenty of fishing room. It is equipped with full electronics, including state of the art Global Positioning receiver (GPS), professional color video fish sounder, GPS-driven color charting & tracking on board computer, LORAN, depth gauge, and ship-to-shore radio. It is a fast, clean, excellently maintained fishing machine! Captain Tony provides the finest fishing equipment available, utilizing the latest innovations in the tackle industry, featuring Shimano tackle.
Offshore Fishing
Captain Tony offers offshore charters for Dolphin, Marlin, Sailfish, Kingfish, Wahoo, Tuna, and all reef fish. He is experienced in many different angling methods, including flyfishing, trolling, and bottom fishing, and uses live bait or artificials, as required. He is available for tournaments, and split trips can be arranged. Accommodations Packages are available also, if so desired. All standard fishing charters include fishing license, bait, tackle, rods/reels and
instruction if necessary. It is customary to tip the mate 15 - 20% of the price of the
charter, on charters where a mate is provided.
