Captain Jon Cave is a professional guide with over 15 years experience in
saltwater flats fishing. He is the founder of the oldest flyfishing school in Florida at Seminole
Community College, co-founder of the Florida Backcountry Flyfishing Association,
and an executive board member of the Florida Conservation Association. An outdoor
writer and photographer, Capt. Jon has been featured in Fishing World, Field &
Stream, Florida Sportsman, Florida Magazine, and Woods and Waters magazines. In
addition to being a USCG certified captain, he is an International Game Fish Associaton
World Record holder, a lecturer on flyfishing and tying, and holds a Master of
Science degree in Natural Resources, specializing in Fisheries Management.
Captain Ron Rebeck conducts lectures and instruction on flyfishing and tying.
Along with Capt. Jon, he is co-founder of the Backcountry Flyfishing Association.
Capt. Ron has been a regular columnist for a sportsfishing magazine, and a contributor to
the monthly Florida Woods and Waters publication. He has been featured in Saltwater
Sportsman, Fishing World, and Florida Sportsman. He holds a USCG certified
captains' license.
Captain Kent Gibbens is a lifelong resident of the East Central
Florida area and has gathered an impressive array of International Game Fish
Association World Record fish in a variety of line weight classes throughout the
years. Capt. Kent also holds a Master's Degree in Education, and has
taught and lectured on sportfishing throughout Florida. He has been a featured speaker at
the Saltwater Sportsman Fishing Shows and has made numerous P.B.S. television
appearances. He has been featured in Florida Sportsman and Saltwater
Sportsman magazines among other publications.
The comfortable and specially equipped 18' backcountry skiffs will take you onto the
pristine waters of Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River Lagoon, and Banana River Lagoon to
challenge a variety of saltwater gamefish.
These Captains are highly experienced and professional, and are avid conservationists,
with years of fishing and guiding experience among them. Captains Jon, Kent and Ron offer Saltwater Flats charters in and around the Merritt Island Nature Refuge. For more information or to book

and true packages or design a package to fit your personal preferences.
All standard full day saltwater fishing charters include top-notch guide, fishing
license, bait, tackle, ice, drinks, snacks, rain gear, sunscreen, insect repellent and
instruction if necessary for up to two persons. Lunch available with prior notice. Airboat
Wildlife Safaris include hearing protection.
Please Note! For freshwater fishing, a Florida fishing license must
be purchased. Your guide cannot provide one for you. A non-resident
7-day license can be purchased at most bait and tackle shops for approximately $16.50.
