Freshwater fishing in Florida can yield an abundance of catfish, crappie, largemouth bass and striper bass. Fishing in one of the top five freshwater fishing destinations gives you the best chance for a successful outing.

Lake George is one of the best lakes in Florida for Largemouth Bass fishing, and is located 29 miles East of Ocala. Lake George is the second largest lake in Florida. Lake Toho, next to Kissimmee in central Florida is a great place to catch trophy bass.

Striper Bass can be caught in abundance at the Apalachicola River/Lake Seminole area. Annual stocking makes this an outstanding destination. Lake Talquin, west of Tallahassee is the place to go for 10 to 20 pound Striper Bass, even up to 30 pounds is possible here.

For Catfish, one of the best places is Apalachicola River. Big channel catfish are found abundantly here, especially in the Spring and Summer. The best place to find them is near the Dam.

To find great fishing for Black Crappie, especially in the cooler months, try Lake Monroe. Located near Sanford, halfway between Orlando and Daytona Beach. This lake is almost 10,000 acres, and part of the St. John’s River chain.

1. Boca Grande Pass is considered to be a great start if you are looking to saltwater fish. It is the deepest pass offered in Florida so you can be sure that a wide range of different fish pass through these waters.

2. If you are without a boat and still want to catch some fish, consider trying your luck off the Matlacha bridge. It is only nine feet to the water so there is a definite ability to catch some trout or snapper on a given day.

3. Sanibel Island Lighthouse Beach is another great destination. People have been known to surf cast directly from the beach here and they also offer a pier from which you can do so.

This lake is just south of Orlando. There is waterfront access for bank anglers. There is also a boat ramp for boat access. The fish population is being monitored and will increase due to ongoing restoration projects taking place.

2.Clermont Chain

This is a series of small and large lakes that runs alongside the city of Clermont. There are a lot of catfishes and basses. This series of lakes has a reputation for having 20 pounders.

3.Pompano Fishing Pier

This spot is heaven for bank anglers interested in saltwater fishing. The Pompano pier is over 1000 feet long. The Fishing pier also offers rod and reel equipment along with baits for rental. The common catches are Pompano, Snapper, Bluefish and Cobia.

If you are going to be going to Florida on a trip or vacation. You should try and take the time to experience shallow water shark fishing.

When you think of shark fishing, you may be thinking of huge boats going out and searching for the very large man eating sharks, but this is not the case. When you are going shallow water shark fishing, you will take a regular fishing boat and the sharks are not enormous, although they are probably larger than most, if not all, of the other fish you may catch.

If you are lucky enough to get out and do some fishing for sharks when the waters are calm and clear, you can actually do what is called sight fishing and watch the sharks as they come to your line and grab on. It is an amazing thing to watch.

Once you have a shark on your line, they will put up a great fight. They go after the bait hard and will not stop resisting.

If you are looking for a great new experience when going to Florida, you will want to look into shallow water shark fishing. It is something that you will never forget and would love to do again.

Florida is unrivaled in its supreme perfection of fishing destinations. Along the state’s coast are numerous fishing spots with a wide array of fish that might be caught. Florida also serves as a hotspot for deep-sea fishers around the world, with the deep-sea fishing spots in the nation. Although there are many spots available to go deep-sea fishing in, only a few can be given the title ‘Best Fishing Spot’ in Florida.

There are two bodies of water that surround Florida: The Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. The Atlantic Ocean is, undoubtedly, the best of the two for deep-sea fishing. The reasoning behind this is: The waters of The Gulf of Mexico remain shallow for lengthy distances, which impedes on the fishing process. Both coasts, however, do offer a variety of charters that can take you out to the best spots.

One of the best spots for deep-sea fishing is off the coast of Tampa Bay. A wide array of fish are found in this region, such as: Grouper, Sharks, Kingfish, and Spanish mackerel. There are many experts in the Tampa Bay region that know the exact habitats of certain fishes and when it’s the ideal time to go out and fish for them.

The lowest section of Florida, the Florida Keys, serves deep-sea fishers with a massive amount of fish waiting to be caught. In the winter, the Florida Keys are primed with Wahoo and Sailfish. Another incentive that the Florida Keys has over all other spots in Florida is the fact that its known as the Sport Fishing Capitol of the world.

The immense waters surrounding the state of Florida are equipped with waters primed for deep-sea fishing. Fishers from around the world flock to locations such as Tampa Bay or the Florida Keys to get a chance to experience to best deep-sea fishing spots that Florida has to offer.
