The Captain and Mate are professional fishermen, and have many years of experience. The mate is aboard to ensure your safety and help you catch fish. He will instruct you in the use of the fishing tackle and coach you in fish fighting techniques. He will explain the boat layout, how to use the head and various safety equipment. And last but certainly not least, he will clean your fish when you return to port.

Port Canaveral
Port Canaveral is a very busy and quite unique place. It is home to a growing cruise ship industry with several ships that make 3 and 4 day trips to the Bahamas. There is also a large seasonal commercial fishing fleet based at Port Canaveral. It is not uncommon to see dozens of shrimp, scallop, and long-line boats unloading their catches. You'll see noisy tug boats coming and going all hours of the day, since Port Canaveral is also a busy commercial shipping port. Port Canaveral is considered to have the safest inlet on the entire East Coast of Florida, and hundreds of small private boats use the Port on any given weekend. The US Navy has a support base on the northeast side of the Port. Keep your eyes open for one of the majestic Naval ships or huge Trident submarines that frequent Port Canaveral. Cape Canaveral Air Station and Kennedy Space Center is located just north of the Port. The Space Shuttle and unmanned rocket launches are routinely scheduled throught the year.

The Hambone II is a 48' Pacemaker Sportsfisherman. Completely rebuilt in 1992, it sports twin 8-71 Turbocharged Detroit Diesel engines, producing 450 HP each. Cruising at 20 knots, you'll get where you're going fast. The fuel capacity is over 900 gallons, and freshwater capacity is over 200 gallons. The state-of-the-art electronics include 2 GPS units, 2 LORANS, 3 Fathometers, Radar, Autopilot, 3 VHF radios, SSB (Single Sideband) radio, Cellular Telephone. The Hambone II is just as comfortable as it is rugged, being fully equipped with a complete Audio / Video Hi-Fi Stereo system, two heads, and plenty of room to sleep 8 people comfortably. It has a fully equipped galley, which includes an electric stove, microwave oven, refrigerator, freezer, and ice maker. It has a 15KW Westerbeke generator, so you can also relax in ice-cold air conditioning. The Hambone II is a sportfishing boat and "we go fishing"! Offshore Fishing
Captain Lee offers offshore charters for Grouper, Kingfish, Amberjack, Shark, Snapper, Permit, Cobia, Tarpon, Tuna, Wahoo, and Dolphin. He is experienced in many different angling methods, including trolling, downriggers, and bottom fishing, and uses live or natural bait, or artificials, as required. Capt. Lee specializes in live baiting for Cobia and Kingfish! Young anglers are welcome, so you can make this a great family outing! Captain Lee uses the finest fishing equipment available, and has lots of it! He carries everything from big game tackle (130 pound class) to light spinning equipment (6 pound class), and everything in between! If you have your own equipment, Captain Lee welcomes you to bring it along.
"The Hambone II catches fish. The fish we catch belong to you and we take very good care of them. We dont meat fish. We Sport fish. We tag and release all billfish. If you catch a trophy fish and wish to have it mounted, we can arrange to have a local taxidermist preserve your memory. There is no need to kill the fish to have it mounted."

All standard fishing charters include top-notch crew, fishing license, bait, tackle,
rods/reels and instruction if necessary. Lunch & soft drinks can be made available. It
is customary to tip the mate 10 - 15% of the price of the charter.

"The water depth offshore Port Canaveral is shallow, and drops off very gradually. You are invited to join the Captain on the bridge for the run offshore, and throughout the day. Each day is different, but we usually run for about 20 miles before we start fishing. Some days the fishing is fantastic, other days you can't buy a strike. The ocean is ever changing. We regularly see porpoise, turtles, birdlife and whales. Bring your camera and be prepared to witness some of nature's most wonderful sights."
